    Hi Coal
From Australias perspective there is very little and weak rationale for adopting nuclear power in Australia at this stage with current commercially available tech. Especially from an economic sense, the levelised cost compared to alternate means, including gas, is rediculuosly high to be feasible - hence Dutton, or anyone, ever been able to make a strong arguement for it.
Finland is not a great case study. Any country in Europe alone isnt really, as all of Europe should be considered as a single entity with regards to standards, regulation, manufacturing, import export, skilled labour, technology etc. Australia has big longstanding problems with all the above (people will argue who is ultimately responsible for this, but most are illinformed), and not as easily supplemented as through Europe. This being said things could change when SMRs are proven.

We should focus on uranium as an export commodity, and possibly processing, to replace those dying material industries. This will invlove lifting/amending some our state mandates.
