It appears that the nuances are lost upon many here.

1. Solar and wind resources, however plentiful, cannot alone deliver reliable and affordable energy on the scale Australia needs.

2. Australia’s current energy policy, driven by zealots, is leading Australia on a path of energy insecurity, blackouts, business destruction and financial chaos.

3. Nuclear needs to be added to the energy mix in the interests of energy security, long-term stability and eventually, affordability.

4. The current prohibition on nuclear energy is irrational, ideologically based and against the national interest.

5. Just as 2008 was not so long ago (remember Rudd?), so 2040 is not so far away.
