1. Solar and wind resources, however plentiful, cannot alone deliver reliable and affordable energy on the scale Australia needs. Yes they can.
2. Australia’s current energy policy, driven by zealots, is leading Australia on a path of energy insecurity, blackouts, business destruction and financial chaos. Not a fact, an opinon. Where is the alternative policy?
3. Nuclear needs to be added to the energy mix in the interests of energy security, long-term stability and eventually, affordability.
You can't say that with a straight face knowing nuclear won't serve a single kw in this country by at least 2040. If you have information to the contrary, please provide it. If we wanted to jump on the nuclear bandwagon the Libs should have done something about it from 2011.
4. The current prohibition on nuclear energy is irrational, ideologically based and against the national interest.
Don't disagree here.
5. Just as 2008 was not so long ago (remember Rudd?), so 2040 is not so far away.
2040 is 15 and a half years away. 15 1/2 years away for a nuclear pipe dream.
