Thanks for your response, sunnyaus. Assertions don’t get us far, I’m sure you’d agree — especially when the facts are otherwise.

I admire your faith in the current energy policy settings, and in a future energy system driven by renewables alone. How you can take that view in the face of mounting contrary evidence is beyond me, but faith is a fine quality and goes beyond the bounds of rationality.

Let’s agree to disagree — our views are clearly irreconcilable at present — and review our positions in three years, say, when the evidence base will be even stronger.

Until then, maintain the faith!
