The fact that you are whinging over a 0.5% once off levy says it all.

Agree that the tax itself isn't that big. However, there are three reasons I believe people are upset:
1. There was no mention of the tax when the PM and Bligh were appealing for donations. It seems sneaky to get people to donate willingly and then hit them with a tax after they have donated - both time and money in some cases.
2. Labor's track record at managing anything has been dismal in the eyes of many people. I think many are concerned that this tax may never reach it's intended destination.
3. The tax isn't going to raise a lot of funds so why doesn't labor cut other spending to find these funds? Is it simply a power play?
