Australia headed for 'catastrophe'

Why has the ABC resorted to scare tactics with regards to....the weather?

For at least two days running, daytime ABC TV news is going over the top by making the weather the headlines. The temperatures we're experiencing here in SA are not unusual for this time of year, yet we're brainwashed into thinking we must be living in the Age of Catastrophe.

What used to be known as 'high' or 'extreme' fire danger is now labeled 'catastrophic'. 'Catastrophic' is surely a term that should be reserved after an adverse event has occurred - we don't know it's a catastrophe unless we've actually had a catastrophe - therefore, we shouldn't pre-empt anything. 

The truth underlying the ABC's reporting terminology and reporting obsessions probably lies closer to the Left now attempting to link any extreme weather (which, statistically, is going to occur virtually every summer anyway, and, by corollary, is normal) to 'climate change' (which supposedly is man made, and therefore not normal), by mere word association / manipulation.
