Yes , the Aussie has lost value against the major currencies , but that doesn't matter if your spending your money here .

E.g. An Australian postage stamp is still 70 cents , just as it was 6 months ago , regardless of exchange rates.

Therefore , I think " you've lost 85k in a month " is not quite correct.
