That is an amazing post. It starts with "For older Australians, I'd say most would not have the faintest clue to what I'm going to go on about." then you go on to write about something that older Australians know very very well, and you show that as a younger Australian you do not know it very well at all.
You write "Enter the new paradigm":.... I'm talking about Australia importing immigrants with much lower standards of living. A new paradigm???? Goodness me!! Sorry, but very naive statement
You obvoiusly were not around during the end of the second world war. Australia accepted MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of new Europoean immigrants ... nearly all of them much poorer than Australians at the time .... nearly all of them came here with one suitcase that represented their whole life.
Nearly all of them prepared to accept jobs for pittance pay and in fact work two or three jobs. They were villified by MANY Australians ( as you are doing now).
They modified Australia and, together with the accepting Australians, got this country to the stage you are boasting about.
