We may have been a lucky nation (luck being the word) but we have been a totally silly nation! Everybody has stupidly put all their eggs in one basket in the mining boom. The country has systematically wiped all other business dead!
I was one of those silly ones that bought up in the mining stocks, to see them be slammed. We need to start investing in "other" stocks, like Techs, and Bio's and anything else. We must stimulate the economy in some way, as these labour fools, haven't helped things either.
Its sad, because the rest of the world, will come back, and Australia will slip behind. What a real shame, from top dog, to sick puppy.
