I have an interest in Literature, including Australian Literature. So, I have done some research on Anna Funder and no matter how hard I look, there appears to be zero evidence that this woman has any interest or knowledge of the Australian economy.

She writes. She has won a number of awards, and the Miles Franklin one is probably her most prestigious award. I think, but not certain, that this comes without any tax payable on it. Now, that is probably neither here nor there and should not have been informing her opinion. It used to be $60,000 but not sure if that figure was higher when she was paid it. However, I'd prefer to read the views of economists and not the signatures of people added to that letter, simply because they have won an award for Australian Literature. I am certain she penned not a single word of it. Was she paid for her signature?
