When we were kids, we came home from school and went out to play and just had to be home by dark.

Who today would let their kids roam miles from home till dark and this was in Sydney?

We walked miles to school and back from the age of 5.

There was no fear of harm.

I never ever saw a knife pulled on anyone, let alone a gang bashing or anything like that.
