With knifing and bashing there is such a physical, grim connection with causing injury and death. All the more for the fact that there is seldom a single stab or blow in such attacks.
For decades now we have been critical of the gun culture in the US ... where a single, remote from the victim, squeeze of a trigger usually snuffs out a life. There is physical disconnection with the act. It is cold and cowardly.
It is so hard to imagine Australians are heading down such a brutal route ... what is it saying ... what is it telling us?
