And it was the might of the then young USA which helped bring WW! to an end. As it was also in WW2. Had little Australia not involved itself in WW1, would the UK and/or the USA have involved themselves in WW2 in coming to Australia's aid? Fast-forwarding to 2023, one could submit that Australia should not help in Ukraine and other hotspots and if China should continue its SW expansion claims what hypocrites would we be if we then put up our hands and asked for help. Is this what you're proposing?

Putin showed by his act of invading Crimea & then later Ukraine that if dictators & aggressors aren't stopped they become bolder & more aggressive. Not acting to support democracies & weaker nations at the first sign of aggression just leads to bigger & wider problems down the line.
