The Yes Campaign and Campaigners got it terribly wrong.
Australia is not a racist nation for having voted down The Voice.
The No Result I can be sheeted home to Albanese, the Labor Government and predominately left media refusing honest discussion about what The Voice represented, and the outcomes that would likely follow, and instead obfuscating with heart pulling, emotional, shaming and yes, bullying statements and claims.
In a national vacuum of clarity and understanding, it cannot be surprising The Voice was voted down.
I wager a significant portion of No Voters don’t feel great about their decision … it was a binary case of Hobson’s Choice, with neither being right for Australia or Australians … I would also wager a well constructed, respectful and honest Treaty, without consequential reparations, would succeed.
Imo, First Nations activists, disparaging Australians and Australia for the outcome need honest introspection and reflection … there is a way forward … a reasonable one … and it will succeed.
