"I’ve never met a Bed Wetter with a modicum of common sense."

The poster child for bed-wetting are the angst-ridden folk who live in what was once regarded as the manufacturing giant of Europe (and indeed the Western world), viz., the Germans, who some years ago decided to seek comfort under their "Energiewende" security blanket.

Problem is, while they had their eyes shut tight, and fingers pressed firmly into their collective ears - so that they couldn't see or hear the climate monster hiding in the cupboard - a different monster (a real one, this time) has now entered the bedroom:

Apart from the GFC and Covid, going as far back as 1979 (which as far back as I can find the data) there has only been one period (1993 - when there was a very major global recession) when Germany's industrial production contracted by a greater extent as it is doing currently.

But absent any major extraneous factor, what is happening in Germany's manufacturing sector now is without precedence.

As the contemporary colloquial saying goes, "F*#% around; Find out".
