One of the things I agreed on with Bodgie Bob Hawke was the opportunity for Australia to become a storage depository for the World's spent nuclear waste.
I think he (and I) believed that Australia could potentially earn a huge amount by creating a safe haven for such waste and at the same time benefit massively by charging for such a service. This could go a long way to reducing our national debt!
However, perhaps the Fins have beaten us to the punch?
Nevertheless, with our barren land mass perhaps we could still consider such a move. It takes a bold approach by government and technolgical expertise. The former has been lacking by successive governments (perhaps to placate the likes of the Greens).
Time waits for no one !
