Liberal MP Zoe McKenzie has posed that Australia should be the“experimental ground” for nuclear energy.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is expected to outline the Coalition’snuclear energy policy before the May budget.

“You will have small modular reactors in the ground within the next 10years,” Ms McKenzie said.

“It’s an era for a country of 26 million people to lead the way to bethe experimental ground for some of these new approaches to energy.
