I have a feeling that AUKUS is tied into all this. Smoke and mirrors from the US.
1. Scomo LNP signs up for AUKUS to get nukes on table. 2. US says we will charge you $365b for 8 Subs. 3. US says we build the Nukes for you on the proviso you also take our expensive SMR's 4. US says we will give you a LCOE price of $80 m/wh from the Nuke plants because you have already paid $300b deposit ($365 - 65 for 8 subs@$8b ea) to show how cheap and more affordable than renewables. 5. US will only charge $600b for Nuke plants. Mind you they have another $300b form Subs. So 7 Nuke plants cost $1 trilion and we are a showcase to Asia for (US friendly) SMR's.
