any discussion should be led by professionals with a high degree of expertise. politicians should sit quietly and take notes and once the professionals have answered the important community questions the politics must needs swing into the debate to determine what/where/how such installations could be done.
theres no point locking pollies of either side, or neutral independents, out of the discussion as they are in charge of the placement. imo neither should nuclear energy be a political issue until the community is own one side or the other.... and to this end, a plebiscite should be held on the Howard moratorium before any decisions are made.
