Unfortunately, you're spot on. Plenty on Struggle St depending on Labor for representation. The Hawke/Keating years helped lift a lot of the working class into the middle and even upper classes. Its been incredibly rapid upward social mobility in historical terms. Labor is likely a victim of its own successes.
They have neglected the working class. If you watched the video above, it was referred to as the leftwing treating the lower class as the embarrassing relative they tolerate.
To my mind, they should step back from PC, identity politics and climate change. Leave it to the business community to solve and the party that represents them. If they aren't bothered, it's a waste of political capital for the left.
