The sort of multiculturalism that has created modern Australia has been a success if you consider how well the greeks, italians, vietnamese etc have integrated.
Our food and coffee is great. We have great wine. We have lots of hard working professionals from SE Asian heritage.

But lets be brutally honest and say the only problem is Islam. I am not even going to saying "muslims" because I am sure that plenty of "muslims" don't see the inside of a mosque, fast for a month or ever intend going to Mecca.

Can anybody identify a group other "islamic extremists" that currently pose a threat to our national security? Islam is a thorn in the side of every western country and it is a thorn in the side of most muslim countries.

Australia would have plenty of cultural diversity without any contribution made by those from muslim backgrounds.

I hope that younger muslims really start to look at their religion and walk away from it rather than become radicalized.

We all hope that this happens...
But the current signs are not so good as for a young moslem man, maybe unemployed, maybe uneducated, maybe feeling as if he doesnt quite belong despite dalliances with sex, drugs rock and roll, certainly overdosed on ultra-violent slasher/shoot-em-up action movies and video games, radical islam can be presented as an attractive, seductive, action-packed-Swartzneger-shoot-em-up-like "return to their roots" option and alternative to the daily grind and humdrum of western life...

Bollywood movies present their heroes as men of dramatic and violent action, quick to take offence and take action packed kung-fu-style revenge between dance sequences, Hollywood presents western heroes in much the same light and so for a confused young man/woman when an action-packed war against the infidels is calling for your help and the leftist media trumpets daily how 911 was a western false-flag operation planned and orchestrated by Dick Cheney among other tin-foil-hat wacko conspiracies as truth, then why would you not go off and answer the call of radical islam...
