I don't mind some 'cost adjustments' to balance our national balance sheet...eg...raise the GST to 12.5%. However...I do object to back door tactics like the Government upping the retirement age because they've realised people are living longer. And realising an ageing population requires medical treatments. Come on...these are BASIC fifth grader observations...along with forward planning for transport infrastructure and water etc.
And I strongly object to them receiving special Super Annuation and retirement benefits. Their industry is about the only workplace you can do a poor job for 3 years and walk away with immunity.
