There is a difference between selecting skilled and intelligent migrants and accepting everyone who manages to get onshore.
By any means you have to acknowledge that migrants tend to work harder(usually on the worst jobs) and their offsprings tend to gain better education because of the aspirational factor.
Migrants built this nation. The notion of stopping migration completely is the stupidest thinking.
I can also propose to build an OLD PEOPLE's town, where all the retirees living on govt support are dumped there and the govt hires cheap labour from overseas to look after them. If you don't have enough money to pass a new ASSET TEST you will spend the rest of your life in the OLD PEOPLE's TOWN.
