Radwimps, Yep that answers it. You support immigration in order to enhance Australia. That goes to the quality and quantity of migrants. The number is a matter of mathmatical fact.
There are many with a different point of view who say we should have immigration which may not enhance Australia but that as a rich country we can afford to save some very wretched people. Its the humanist argument.
My point is that we should decide these things not wander along without any policy because we don't want to offend anyone. The pollies want it both ways to say we are humanist and enhancing Australia with immigration.
Some migrants clearly fall into each catagory. Some cost us but have a tremendous personal windfall for them and their decendents. Others are a clear benefit for Australia and a loss to their mother country.
