Agree 100% bacci.
The coalition and labor have the same policy on immigration...the more the better....which IMO is totally wrong.
On top of that Mr Abbott said yesterday that we should treat asylum seekers better. Apparently the government is being too harsh, which came as a surprise to me.

So I now assume that both major parties have the same policy on asylum seekers too...let nearly all of them in after checks because we need them to boost our population.

My personal view is that Australia is at or near it's optimum human population level bearing in mind that three quarters of this country is uninhabitable desert or near desert and much of the remaining quarter only has just enough fresh water to support the current population.
