Given the natural and historic advantages we have over most other countries its a pretty poor result. Without touching Aboriginal issues, all that land, all those resources, no history to fight over (apologies aboriginals) we should be smashing it.
I think a lot of it goes to leadership and economic models. If you look at the parliamentary makeup of the countries that top these things time and time again the one thing rings out. The have genuine and diverse democracies, not the laughable sh*t sandwich or shi@t sandwich with cheese choices we are presented with.
