Interest rates should be a lot lower. The RBA needs to reduce rates by more than .25 to stimulate the Aussie economy and send down the AUD. the economy might hit the fourth recession in 28 years.
for a country that has enormous immigration growth, the Australian economy is quite pathetic. Either it is the politicians or the RBA or the immigrants themselves, perhaps they are the wrong ones, and perhaps they add congestion and climate change and stuff to an economy already fragile.
On the markets, perhaps the Australian economy is in for another horrible week, while more migrants come off the planes and boats.
