We all accept the past - the british arrived and set up shop, and paved the way for modern australia
If i say "sorry that 200 years ago some poms killed some of your ancestors" to a local next time I'm in Leonora, will we be able to move forward??
A culture that places no value on education wont be changed with apologies.
If it was as simple as "acknowledging the past" surely we'd be getting somewhere? I hear acknowledgements to country neary every day! My sons preschool has a "reconciliation action plan" ffs! Change is driven from within
