I have had a lot to do with governments of all levels. I think it is state governments that should go. There is so much duplication between federal and state and if councils kept to the rates, roads, and rubbish they would become more relevant again. There are so many local services that state governments can’t deliver. Maybe councils could be amalgamated to become larger and take over hospitals and schools. There are too many snouts in the trough for this to happen, but it would take costs out and make us more consistent.
