What you don't appear to be accounting for is who holds the debt. In the US there were vast numbers of NINJA loans that are simply not there in the Australian market. Indeed, most Australian debt is held by people who will eventually pay it off. Not saying a crash can't happen but using what happened in the US to compare to us now seems a fair bit wide of the mark to me.
