    ''I know why. ''

I think that's a wild guess. Whilst I wouldn't downplay the dangers of asbestos lined pipes. It's merely one factor in Australia and NZ

Australia and NZ stand miles high in cancer rates globally.

But, asbestos in pipes is in many countries - and in big % too. UK, Ireland, America - America has well over half a million miles still of asbestos lined water pipes; Some places in Europe - Italy, Slovenia.

Nowhere else has the cancer rates that Australia has.

I'm not saying that it's not the reason - but, it's a hell of a leap without a LOT of research.

I put up a thread or two months back on cancer rates in Oz - under 50's - and the thing that I noticed - was that ----------- Australia and New Zealand - both are sky high rates, they win the global race easily ---------

    what do you notice?

To me, it looks like Australia and New Zealand are the furthest people away from their genetic ancestry in a short period

coincidence? - don't know. Fact it is - but, if it means anything? no idea.

Back to the asbestos in Aussie water pipes ----- first, I'd look to see on a state by state cancer breakdown - because Victoria is the champion of asbestos in water pipes - about 70% of the water pipes are lined still with asbestos cement - BUT, from what I know - rising cancer rates in Australia are pretty much across the nation

you may have a point - but, it would take a lot of work to prove it one way or another IMO
