Butcherboy - If you believe that CO2 is the culprit behind climate change, having caused Australia to record its warmest spring, then you'll also have to believe that CO2 is the cause behind the U.S.'s current record cold snap.
As of last week, almost 1400 records were broken, including:
(i) 886 places having their lowest maximum (ii) 325 having their lowest minimum (iii) 127 enjoying their highest snowfall
So CO2 must be the wonder gas. It's linked to EVERYTHING: heat, cold, floods, drought, bushfires, increased snowfalls, decreased snowfalls, plant growth, plant death, industrial advance, industrial decline...
...but most of all, it has now displaced God (or the Devil) as the most feared concept amongst the religiously inclined.
The Guy Upstairs has got competition. And all this time He was thinking "CO" would be enough to scare 'em. But nope - "CO2" was causing all the problems right under His nose. He's probably kicking Himself for missing it - but hey, we're all human.
Amazing. Little old CO2, what we breathe out. The stuff we were fooled into believing in Science class, that by blowing into a test-tube it could precipitate calcium carbonate from a limewater solution. Oooohhh, dangerous. I had my sneaking suspicions back in Year 10, but did anyone listen?
No. It was all "global cooling" back then. Well, they must have been right, because look at the U.S. this week. Brrrr!!
