In some respects NUF being taken over would be a good result for shareholders.
The list of potential buyers would include many of the global players in the agri/chemical space ... but if Sumitomo was not the bidder they would likely need to be on board with any offer in order for it to succeed.
Given the cyclical nature of the business and the high working capital needs*, I'd be surprised if we saw much interest from private equity funds.
* I'm aware that debt levels have come down a lot since 2019 but (i) the bigger part of that was the result of selling part of NUF's business and (ii) the history of the company does not fill me with confidence that they will stay down.
