Are you mental? We have been the main source of income for years to the Solomon Islands. any deal with China is a slap in the face for all the aid and support we give them.
if they get to put navy ships with in strike range of the east coast of Australia then that is almost a signal for war.
Our biggest problem is we cant give as much support as China can. Currently the Solomon islands credit rating is Caa1. Which basically means they can't get the same low interest loans as Australia as they are deemed a substantial risk.
we should have built their ability to get low cost loans instead of handing out free money. Who knows where it is spent .
