Can I add, Australia is different because of the resources boom and the increasingly divergent effect that it is having on the countries two economies.
Unemployment is the first sign of real danger; but not just any unemployment, unemployment specially in retail, finance and manufacturing because of the everyday australians they employ.
This country is under going a schism of sorts. When people say we are the mineral equivalent of Saudi Arabia, I also think that we are becoming another economic Saudi Arabia. Rich elites controlling the vast wealth of the country while the masses run into financial trouble spells another future trend coming our way : state dependancy!
