It begs the question - how did the LNP manage to stuff things up so well ? Were they still reading the trickle down economics handbook from the Thatcher and Reagan days, or were they really so incompetent that they had to resort to Robodebt to try to get back in the black ?
The "We are better Economic Managers" mantra of the LNP is now laughable. Wasnt Costello also voted World's best Treasurer at one stage ?
I would seriously love to read the post mortem after the last election - we can't afford to make the same mistakes again, regardless of who is in power. Can anyone suggest some recommended reading ?
We havent had a government this busy since Hawke - Keating. Almost every week there is something happening. Albo and Chalmers seem to be really setting the agenda. One day it is health, the next day it is manufacturing, then Defence spending, then we move to the UN, the Pacific, then violence against women, now it's FIRB and foreign investments. Next up is the budget. Already we are getting some hints.
Albo is swimming quite well, Dutton is drowning, gasping for air at present.
