His wife earns at least $485,000 [at last count] as Governor of Victoria
That’s all of $1.5 million a year, every year for as long as they hold those jobs – presume he will be out of Albo loses the next election!

How many of us know that Glyn Davis' wife is the Governor of Victoria. Her name is Margaret Gardner and was appointed Governor last year. She believes that Australia should become a republic.
They were once considered a power couple when they both held Vice Chancellor positions at separate Melbourne universities. In 2017 a portrait of the couple was hung in the National Portrait Gallery. The bio that accompanies the portrait is very detailed.

In 2021 Glyn Davis wrote a book titled "On Life's Lottery", an essay on our moral responsibility toward those less well off. With that huge pay rise and the salary that he now earns from the Australian taxpayers along with the salary that his wife is paid by the taxpayers of Victoria, one would expect action to back up his words on "moral responsibility toward those less well off".

By the way, the salary of the Governor of Victoria was $485,000 in 2022. I would expect that there has been a pay rise in the intervening years as the salary for that position is to be equal to that of a Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
As from November 2023, that judicial salary was increased to $500,104.
