Labor adds ‘$30,000 for every household’ to spending since coming to office
Shadow Home Affairs Minister James Paterson says the Albanese government have added “$30,000 for every Australian household” to its spending since they came to office.
Australia’s inflation rate rose from 3.6 per cent to 4 per cent in May.
Markets are now predicting a 67 per cent chance of a rate hike in August.
“There’s no question Jim Chalmers has been unable to say no at the Expenditure Review Committee, and billions of dollars of spending … about $30,000 for every Australian household has been added to spending,” Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia.
“That is fuelling inflation.”
