    Dear friends,

The Prime Minister promised the Australian people that life would be “cheaper” under his government - but the cost of living has skyrocketed.

Australians are paying the price for Labor's poor decisions that has led to a cost of living crisis.

As the prospects of an early election grow, it's time for a change to put Australia back on track.

This past fortnight in the Senate, I have focused on holding the government to account on issues including their live sheep export ban, vaping, NDIS, energy, and Labor's homegrown inflation.

    Keep the Sheep!

Can you spot the difference? I can’t ‍♀️

Labor have teamed up with the radical Animal Justice Party to announce their ban of live sheep exports, a policy that is shameful, blatantly ideological, and reckless.

West Aussies must stand together in support of our farmers - we must fight on.

We know Labor just don’t understand the importance of our farming sector to the supply chain of people, our trading partners, their food security, and the Australian economy.

Shockingly, the photo they've used is 11 years old and taken on the back of a truck in central Victoria.

Let's send a strong message to Labor and the Greens that we must Keep the Sheep!

    Labor's Homegrown Inflation

Australian families are paying the price for Labor’s homegrown inflation – that’s the reality from last week's inflation data.

Labor’s Budget has put upwards pressure on inflation, which is causing so much pain for families and business across our nation and in WA.

Shockingly, Australia’s core inflation is now higher than Sweden, the UK, Norway, Canada, New Zealand, the Euro Area, the US and Switzerland.

This is what happens when you have a big spending Labor Government that’s completely out of touch with the economic reality.

Labor's NDIS Bill Only Making Things Worse

The message is loud and clear from the disability community, Bill Shorten's NDIS legislation will rob participants of their choice and control and hurt those who need the Scheme the most.

As a former NDIS Minister, I understand more than most the need for the Scheme to be sustainable so it endures for generations to come - but the Bill as it currently is will make things worse, not better.

The Coalition has always been willing to work with the Government to ensure this legislation improves the lives of over 650,000 Australians for years to come. Yet, Bill Shorten simply refused.

The Senate Community Affairs Committee has now forced Labor into holding additional hearings in order to hear further evidence about his this Bill will effect our most vulnerable.

Instead of hiring billboard trucks, spinning “zingers” and shutting the door on the disability community, Labor and Bill Shorten must urgently focus on ensuring the NDIS is sustainable for the most vulnerable Australians on the Scheme.

Vaping Ban to Protect our Children

Did you know that 88% of vape shops are located within 1 kilometre of our schools?

The Senate last week passed a ban on illicit vapes, to stop criminal networks selling them on the black market to our kids.

While this comes as good news, Labor are still failing to dismantle the criminal networks targeting our children.

These children are at a pivotal stage of their physical and mental development, yet they are unknowingly becoming addicted and experiencing nicotine withdrawals while at school.

That's why the Coalition will commit 0 million to tackle illegal vapes from the border to the shopfront, that’s 10 times more than Labor.

It’s time for real action against these criminals to protect our children.

WA is the Safest Place to Store our Radioactive Waste

Did you know that WA already has a state-of-the-art operational facility that stores low-level radioactive waste?

Tellus's operational facility offers the safest geological conditions in the world to safely store radioactive waste for Australian mining, oil, gas and health industries. The Sandy Ridge facility already has strong social license from the local community.

The question must be asked, why has the Department of Defence decided to spend millions in building a new low-level radioactive waste storage facility at HMAS Stirling, when we already have an operational state-of-the-art facility in WA?

    Local Government Week in Canberra

Leaders from our local council and shires gathered in Canberra last week for the annual National General Assembly of Local Government.

It was a pleasure to catch up with a range of local WA councils during their time in Canberra, to discuss the various challenges and issues they are facing.

It has been a very busy few weeks in the Senate, holding the Albanese-Government to account and fighting for the issues that matter the most to Western Australians.

    Kind regards,
