Not all defence clearly is effective and aspects get outdated. Some are questioning tanks, ships etc.. certainly in certain situations

How many billion was wasted on subs??

Harold Holt probable was right. We need our own nuclear weapons?

If we get nuclear weapons who is the best supplier??

Obviously defence, and I am not having a crack at defence, rather the decision makers, needs to be a lot smarter and a lot more pragmatic as well as effective. We cannot just have nuclear weapons, we also need cost effective drones and quality tech support to make sure we can resist any incoming foes

Some of this is posturing because as I recently saw on a web video. USA has about 5500 nuclear warheads and Russia 6000 and there could be more so if they decide to light it up everybody is stuffed apparently with temperatures rising across the globe excluding other nuke arsenals like China.

It would be nice to have a defence so we are not pushed around easily by superpowers.

It looks like USA wasted a lot on superficial defence types
