Australia really is a classic example of a country not knowing what it doesn't know. Too many Australians have no real experience of what it's like in other countries to actually work, live & raise a family. It's citizens & leaders are far too insular & inward looking to know what's going on in the world, how things are changing & how things could be done better. It's more a case of ignorance rather than arrogance but also a lack of willing to try ideas from 'foreigners'. This is why Australia is always behind & playing catchup when it comes to developing & advancing society.
