Australia the Lucky country.

Australia used to be called the lucky country because not only was it rich in commodities but it also exported them, thus its economy evolved to become heavily dependent on commodity export whilst exporting of complex manufactured products, technology and services lagged behind not just most of the western world but also other countries that were considered 2nd or 3rd world class countries.

Australia has fallen consistently in the ranking of economic product complexity over the last 3 decades.
New Zealand has held steady to rising over the last two decades in economic product complexity.
Uganda in Africa has overtaken Australia in economic product complexity
Armenia which has recently come out of a raw has also overtaken Australia in economic product complexity.
Malawi has stormed passed Australia as has Cambodia and Laos economic product complexity

Australia needs commodities to survive as it again it failed to diversify to more advanced manufacturing.

Hopefully the Australian government and media will support Australian Commodity companies as a matter of economic necessity and in time promote Oil and gas or other commodity companies domiciled in Australia such as SHE.
