to be fair, this argument goes along the same lines that Australia is a polluter because it exports coal.
Stopping exports for some reason of ethics that we have no control over in other sovereign countries wont stop the behaviour, or the lives of animals and people being affected as they will source it elsewhere, it just kills another part of our economy.
Instead of stopping exports, why dont we threaten to stop exports unless we see vast improvements in the way these animals / commodities are used and give a timeline? That has a far better chance of having a positive result against this barbaric treatment of animals.
Instead a kneejerk reaction from our own government goes straight into the groin of the Australian economy and its producers, and yet animals will still die this way.
