australia top welfare country

Australia has recently been named as the country that is paying more welfare, as a % of GDP,than any other country.(28% of GDP )
This is absurd for a country such as Australia and has obviously come about from bad policy/numerous past Govts trying to win a few more votes, and from very weakly administered depts like Centrelink.The situation is now totally out of control and drastic steps need to be taken.
So all those that live off the public teat will natuarally view any changes as a violation of their rights.
It will be interesting to see if Ms Gillard has what it takes to sort this mess out,......I doubt it.
