Depends where you farms aimone. Nobody has tried to make a profit farming the last 2 decades with falling land prices taking away equity and that is what is happening now.
Unfortunately for most, they are facing this cycle with record large debt loads meaning there is no resiliance in their business and hence there is a lot more land australia over that is going to come to market. Now the futures markets are falling and our currency remains high. Will only serve to turn this trend into a crisis.
The fire sale phase not yet begun in farmland but it is not far off ... the same looks likely to spread to the precious metals sectors.
