Woops just posted too soon. Anyway beef prices in Australia are actually worse than they were 30 years ago. Think about inflation over time and the increased costs of production then consider you're getting less in icome than theiry years ago! Anyway I think I'm having a bit of a rant but there are a lot of factors that have conspired to produce this situation. People are forcasting higher prices for agricultural commodities but I really have a hard time seeing any of that actually going to producers, I think it will just lead to increased margins for wholesalers and retailers.
