Government needs to step in and really put in some controls that not necessarily (prevents competition) but rewards farmers for innovative ideas instead of 100 year old practices!

Well i think that is along the lines of what needs happen .It also needs be able create a demand as well for products domestically . ie ethanol bio mass etc

Im not sure but the co -operative system can still work well . Sun rice is an example of ownership from farm to market and value added products .

I buy my milk from a dairy producer who has gone this way. Cream still on the top tastes great and i dont mind paying .They make yogurts etc also.

Older days the dairy had their own cheese factories etc .
