12000 seats sold out of 55000? A shortfall of 43000! At $100 a seat $4.3mil! The promoters would be having kittens!
Likely scenario: All the above and promoters say "what if Oz loses? Who will come to matches on Friday and Sunday, not to mention 6 day test in Sydney?"
They then present scenario to world XI with a nudge and a wink resulting in upset players with no option but to throw their wickets and the game-hence the stupid look on some faces, not least Richie Benaud who, with his stunned mullet expression at the "presentation", looked as if he was about to pass on!
And talk about cheapskate! Flintoff batting in his England helmet with blue electrical tape over the three lions!
After it was all over I had this terrible feeling of guilt because I had allowed myself to be conned into wasting so much time watching this farce!
I'll have something better to do during the rest of this series that's for sure!!
