    Ukraine and the United States were the only two countries in the world ,consistently since 2014, that did not vote in the UN for the Resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism, xenophobia and intolerance.

    This resolution comes up every year since 2012 and, in the most recent vote held on 4 November 2022, over 50 countries voted against the resolution.

    There were 52 ‘No’ votes: Albania, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kiribati, Latvia, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Moldova, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and United States.

    This is a major jump from the previous highs of 4 ‘No’ votes, in
    2013 — Canada, Kiribati, Palau, United States;
    2014 — Canada, Palau, Ukraine, United States;
    2015 — Canada, Palau, Ukraine, United States.

    The United States is the only country that has consistently voted ‘No’ every year since 2012. Ukraine has consistently voted ‘No’ since 2014.

    Most of the other countries that voted ‘No’ this year consistently abstained in previous years.
