Due to 22 years of good times, welfare largesse from both sides of the political spectrum and education since 1972 having been controlled by Leninists, there is an implicit hope from at least half the population that with a Labor/ green govt in place, there'll be no need to get out of bed in the morning and one's livelihood will assured by government payment.
There are already people in the community for whom this is the case - and I'm talking about working age adults, not children or retired. QE shows the way - too many debts: print more money.
